The Emerald Coast, Florida
100 Miles Of Vacation Options
The Emerald Coast is a 100 mile stretch that covers five counties on Gulf coast of Florida. Known as the Emerald Coast because of the emerald green water, this area has gorgeous white sand beaches that epitomizes beach vacation. Some of the more popular destinations along the Emerald Coast are: Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola, Panama City, Navarre Beach, WaterColor, and Seaside. Each town offers its own unique perspective of fun, food, relaxation, and views. Do not worry if you have a difficult time deciding which town to visit. You can visit them all and will want to come back again and again to see what else the Emerald Coast has to offer.
- Fishing: If you love to fish, visit Destin. It's is known as the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village" and offers fishing trips year round. There is a fishing rodeo that spans the month of October and locals and tourists alike celebrate all month long during the daily weigh-ins.
- History buffs: If you consider yourself a lover of all things Historical, perhaps a vacation in Pensacola will be just the ticket. With a rich 450+ year history, you can visit the History museum, the Historic (and perhaps haunted) lighthouse, an 18th century fortification, the Civil War-era Christ Church, and a more recent historical site: the Naval Air Station, considered the birthplace of Naval Aviation and home to the Blue Angels.
- Water sports: Although every town on the Emerald Coast offers water sports, you will want to spend some time in Panama City. Considered by some as the "Best Sports Beach on the Gulf", you can find it all here. From kayaking, surfing, banana boating, windsurfing, para-sailing, boogie boarding, paddle boating, jet skiing, and much more. You name the water sport, most likely someone in Panama City offers it!
- Idyllic beach vacation: If you are simply looking to forget your troubles and simply relax in an idyllic environment, be sure to visit Seaside. Seaside is an unincorporated master-planned community where the Truman Show movie was filmed. Seaside offers beautiful views, tennis, golf, restaurants, perfectly landscaped village squares, a repertory theater, and miles of beaches to discover.
The best thing about the Emerald Coast, however, is simply the gorgeous water that laps along the unparalleled white sand. You will never forget the breathtaking beauty that you will find right here in Florida.
